Brewers aren’t shy about borrowing techniques from one style and applying it to another. Heck, they aren’t even shy about taking the best of any fermented beverage and giving it a whirl. This is exactly what we’ve done with our newest release, Spumante Brut Rosé; a Brut Ale aged in Pinot Noir Barrels.
Spumante means sparkling in Italian and that is exactly what this Brut beer delivers. Effervescent sparkling goodness, similar to a sparkling dry Brut Champagne. Instead of a generous dry-hop like our previous Brut IPAs, it gets its complexity from Pinot Noir barrels. It’s no bambino either, this beer is 9% ABV but has a very smooth finish. While we were hoping the rosé colour would be more pronounced due it’s lengthy stay in those first use Pinot barrels, there is no debate that it’s ”Rosé on the Nosé”.
