Abwí is a barrel fermented saison with a wild yeast harvested from balsam and spruce trees in Kitigan Zibi. 🛶
Released in concert with the 2022 editioin of The Good Way, Abwí is one in a pair of barrel-aged releases featuring wild yeast strains from KZ; this beer features golden plum, where it's partner bottle, Chíman, was blended with gooseberries.
Mike and Anna had this to say about their inspiration for the names of these beers:
As we continue to build relationships between our communities - We look at the canoe and paddle which represent our destiny; we have the ability to choose our destination but it is up to us to paddle our way there.
The significance of the location of Ottawa was very important, in that it is at the confluence of the rivers coming together from the four directions and it was here that the canoe connected us.
Note: this bottle is highly carbonated! Refrigerate well and do not agitate prior to opening.
